PhasE PolyPhenism Emergence and associated Risks – PEPPER
Locust species alternatively display harmless solitarious and gregarious phenotypes. When gregarious, they create migrating bands and swarms that are devastating for all types of agriculture. This plasticity, named phase polyphenism, give them advantages to be a real hazard for agriculture all around the world. What are the evolutionary origins of these capacities? How should we forecast swarming locust outbreaks?
Approximating Deep Learning Accelerators – AdequateDL
AdequateDL explores how approximate computing can improve the performance of deep-learning hardware accelerators. Deep learning is very relevant in this context, since playing with the accuracy to reach adequate computations will significantly enhance energy efficiency, while keeping quality of results in a user-constrained range. Outcomes include a framework for accuracy exploration and evaluation of gains in performance per watt of the proposed adequate accelerators over CPU/GPU platforms.
Color images multiplexing by laser structuring of plasmonic materials for security and personalization of ID cards – MIXUP
Improve the performances of laser marking for security using random plasmonic metasurfaces
Wealth Inequalities and the Dynamics of Housing Market.Interpreting real-estate market-based regime of spatial inequalities (WIsDHoM) – WIsDHoM
The project investigates how asset-based welfare policies, residential market volatility, stratified accumulation and vulnerability impinge upon the geography of inequality in property markets. Since the 1990s, housing prices have increased faster than the income of buyers, becoming a driver of social polarization and household vulnerability. We investigate the links between socio-spatial inequality, asset capitalization, instability and vulnerability in residential housing markets.
Chemically Architectured MEtallic aLloys, towards a new strengthening mechanism – CAMEL

Towards more sustainable wastewater treatments: Taking into consideration the TRANSformation PROducts of organic micropollutants – TRANSPRO
The project addresses the important challenge of better characterizing wastewater treatment processes and intends to study the transformation products (TPs) resulting from the degradation of organic micropollutants during these treatments and subsequently in the natural environment, an aspect that remains neglected in environmental risk assessment. It will contribute to document the treatment performances of innovative solutions allowing to limit sanitary and environmental risks.
Humans and deer during the Palaeolithic: integrating the variability of prey ecology and ethology in the investigation of past human – environment interactions – DeerPal
In the context of an ongoing mass extinction event, wild animals are now facing the double challenge imposed by direct human alteration of their habitat as well as the indirect consequences of climate change. While research on modern populations provides data on the impact of human land use and how to compensate for it, the response of large mammals to climate change is harder to grasp and subsequently predict without a deep-time perspective.
CREativity in Additive Manufacturing – CREAM
The objective of this ANR project is to propose a suite of tools and methods of creativity in Additive Manufacturing (AM) based on intermediate objects of AM, in order to promote awareness, creativity and organizational integration of the FA to the design teams.
