Wireless mmW communications for Railway – mmW4Rail
Spectrum scarcity is a constraint for railways. Very narrow bands are allocated in the 900 and 1900 MHz bands. This is driving the exploration of mm bands in 5G developments and beyond for specific needs. This is planned in well-defined areas (stations, marshalling yards, high-speed lines) and for specific use cases such as virtual train coupling, platooning, remote train driving, maintenance data downloading, etc.
REal-GAs effects on Loss mechanisms of ORC turbine flows – REGAL-ORC
Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) power systems offer a great potential for waste heat recovery and environmental-friendly power generation but relatively little is known regarding the impact of real-gas effects on loss mechanisms in ORC turbine expanders. A further increase of ORC turbine efficiencies can only be achieved if relevant non-ideal compressible fluid dynamical phenomena are better understood and modeled.
Mixed (Anti)Aromaticity, Unorthodox Interactions and Topologies – MixAr
The MixAr project aims at expanding the knowledge concerning antiaromaticity. Our approach explores the mixing of (anti)aromaticity, unorthodox interactions and topologies following 3 main axes: the study of “mixed (anti)aromaticity” with antiaromatic species forced to “interact” with each-others or with aromatic ones. Probe “unorthodox interactions” of molecules with antiaromatic 4n p-system to target antiaromatic catalysis. Access to “[4n+2] Möbius antiaromaticity”, of fundamental interest.
Could the RAGE-dependent effects of inhaled sevoflurane on lung epithelial permeability help identifying a treatable trait in acute respiratory distress syndrome? – RESPIRE
The acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a major cause of respiratory failure and death that still lacks specific therapy. Inhaled sevoflurane is as an anesthetic agent that may be relevant to processes that depend on the receptor for advanced glycation end-products (RAGE) pathway and contribute to mortality in ARDS, namely epithelial injury, impaired alveolar fluid clearance, and lung alveolar-capillary permeability (TAURA project, funded by ANR/DGOS PRTS 2013).

Expanding the repertoire of STructurally conserved AviRulence proteins in plant pathogenic fungi to propose knowledge-driven plant resistance management – STARlep
The STARlep project aims at exploring structural and functional diversity among L. maculans avirulence (AVR) proteins to propose knowledge-driven plant resistance management. It includes structural characterisation of L. maculans AVR and their classification into structural families, determination of the plant proteins and cellular processes targeted by the AVR proteins and identification of resistances recognizing effectors with contrasted structures and functional mechanisms.
Endocrine disruptive potential of molecules leaching from food containers. Are substitutes safer? – PoLySafe
