Effects of convection and cirrus clouds on the Tropical Tropopause Layer over the Indian Ocean – CONCIRTO
CONCIRTO is a 62-month young researcher project funded by the National Research Agency. It aims to study the impact of deep convection and cirrus on the water vapor balance in the tropical UTLS of the southern hemisphere.
Safety and Security of Urban Crowded Environments – S2UCRE
Crowded gatherings in public spaces are common in Europe, whether they are festive events (festival of lights in Lyon, Hafengeburstag in Hamburg, European football cup, etc.), or demonstrations ( political, trade-union, etc.). S2UCRE's goal is to help make them safer.
Fractal models and wavelet analysis for the characterization of engineering surfaces – FRACLETTES
The area in which this project fits is geometric modeling for Computer Aided Geometric Design (CAGD) and digital simulation. We propose to tackle the problem of digital representation, analysis and characterization of rough surfaces for digital simulation. The geometric characterization that we propose seems essential to more easily establish relations with the physical properties of surfaces.
Photodesorption induced by UV, X-rays and Electrons on Surfaces – PIXyES
The PIXyES project proposes to synergize different experimental and theoretical approaches to unveil the phenomenon of photodesorption, a mechanism poorly understood from a fundamental point of view, but whose importance is crucial for understanding and exploiting the observations of molecules in the coldest regions of the interstellar medium, namely the regions of stars and planets formation.
Chemical Engineering for the Synthesis of Highly Stable Perovskite Films Applied to Efficient Solar Cells – ChemSta
Developing sustainable technologies and processes to produce energy from renewable resources has become an urgent need. Among them, photovoltaics (PV) still need improvement for cost-effectiveness, saving on raw material and cutting in pay-back energy consumption. Beyond the now mature silicon technologies, solid-state perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have emerged nine years ago as a possible alternative or complementary PV technology.
Controlled Computation of Point-Defect Characteristics in High entropy Alloys – CoCoA
This project aims at obtaining an improved understanding of point defect (PDs) physics in High Entropy Alloys (HEAs), and at providing methods to precisely characterize their intrinsic properties at the atomic scale. These quantities are then used to inform meso-scale models (of e.g. mechanical properties and diffusion), so as to predict HEAs behavior and guide alloy design.
Sustainability and Spatiality in Co-Workers' Mobility Practices – COWORKWORLDS
The aim of COWORKWORLDS is to question the supposedly beneficial, though unproven, effects of coworking in terms of sustainable mobility. In this project, we adopt a broad definition of mobility and sustainability. Mobility is envisaged as spatial mobility (daily mobility, long journeys, residential mobility…), but also as social mobility (professional mobility…). The three dimensions of sustainability are taken into account : environnemental, but also economic and social.
