On May 28th, 2025, more than 35 European and international funding agencies from 27 countries will launch the fourth European Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETP) joint call. This call aims to support research and innovation activities related to the energy transition, a key challenge for the future of our planet. In France, the French National Research Agency (ANR) will co-fund this call together with the Pays de la Loire Region Council.
West African nations face pressing climate-related challenges, including environmental degradation, rainfall variability, extreme heatwaves, floods, and declining agricultural productivity. The accelerating impacts of climate change, along with socio-economic developments like population growth and urbanization, exacerbates climate-related challenges. The initiative “Climate Services for Risk Reduction in West Africa” (CS4RRA) was launched in 2023 by European countries in collaboration with West African institutions, including ACMAD, AGRHYMET/ CILSS, WASCAL, and the African Centres of Excellence. The aim of this initiative is to enhance climate resilience through Knowledge, Innovation, and Capacity Building (KIC), leveraging achievements from previous European Union and African Union programs (e.g., Horizon 2020, Joint Programme Initiative Climate/SINCERE, Copernicus CCS).
Charcot's disease, also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), is a neurodegenerative disease caused by the progressive degeneration of the central and peripheral motor neurons in the brainstem and spinal cord that control voluntary muscles. It is the most common of the rare diseases, with 4 new cases diagnosed each day in France. Life expectancy is 3 to 5 years after the onset of the first symptoms, and to date, there is no cure available.
France and the Czech Republic have been key players in the European Nuclear Alliance, leading the way in reforming the electricity market. Both governments aim to enhance these collaborations, especially in research cooperation. The French and Czech governments wish to strengthen these ties, particularly through cooperation in the field of research.

In the framework of its 2025 Work Programme, the French National Research Agency (ANR) proposes the SRSEI call with a continuous submission format throughout the year.
To contribute to achieving the goals of the Ecophyto 2030 Strategy by building on research outcomes, the Ministries responsible for research (MESR), agriculture (MASAF), ecological transition (MTEECPR), and health (MSA) are launching the fourth edition of the "Ecophyto Maturation" (ECOM) call for projects. Managed by the ANR and co-financed by the OFB, this programme promotes the emergence of innovative, operational, and deployable solutions to reduce the use and impact of pesticides.
The signing of the bilateral agreement between the ANR and the JST (Japanese science and technology agency) for the promotion of scientific and technological cooperation has resulted in the opening up of the emblematic Japanese CREST programme (Core Research for Evolutionary Science and Technology) to the participation of French teams in Japanese projects. French teams are invited to participate in research projects in collaboration with one or more Japanese teams concerning one of the two following priority research areas:
Since 2011, the coastal regions of the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico have been confronted with massive strandings of Sargassum seaweed, the scale and persistence of which stand out from previous waves. The degradation of the seaweed causes significant releases of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide, leading to beach closures and the evacuation of coastal populations, thus confronting the regions concerned with a critical health, environmental and economic situation.
17/02/2025 - 07/05/2025
The joint LEAP-SE 2025 call is the first call of the COFUND LEAP-SE, cofunded by the European Commission as part of the Horizon Europe programme. For France, the ANR is participating in the financing of this call, jointly with the ARI (Agence Régionale de l'Innovation - La Réunion).

Since its 2012 revolution, artificial intelligence (AI) has been introduced at the core of digital solutions and continues to evolve rapidly. These recent developments are notable, both at the core of AI and in its interactions with other research fields. In this sense, this call aims to support the new challenges of artificial intelligence for scientific discovery. It therefore encourages multidisciplinary and collaborative research aimed at promoting the use of AI in scientific practice and in conducting research.
