"Novel Methods and Approaches towards the Understanding of Brain Diseases"
The ANR is associated to the ERA-Net NEURON to launch a fifth joint transnational call for funding of innovative research projects in neuroscience.
Thirteen countries are participating to this call for proposals: Austria, Belgium (Flanders), Canada (Québec), Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Romania, and Spain.
The aim of the call is to enable multinational collaborative research projects that address the developments and advances in methods and approaches to understand the brain and its diseases. Research projects must be hypothesis-driven and combine cutting-edge technological developments with a clear, substantial research question. It is important to clearly show why the approach/methodology is novel (or that existing methodology is applied to a new research area).
Multidisciplinary proposals with integrated approaches, as well as translational research proposals that combine basic and clinical approaches are strongly encouraged.
The projects must show a clear added value in funding the collaboration over the individual projects. Each consortium submitting a proposal must involve a minimum of three and a maximum of five research groups from at least three different countries of funding organisations participating in this call (see list above).
Funding will be awarded for a maximum of three years. The ANR will fund only the French partners in the selected projects.
The specific annex for French partners is available on this site. The call text and proposal template are available both on this site and on: www.neuron-eranet.eu.
There will be a two-stage procedure for joint applications: pre-proposals must be submitted by 9th March 2012 on the electronic submission site: www.pt-it.de/ptoutline/application/neuron5. Only selected pre-proposals will be invited to submit a full proposal, to be submitted by 25th June 2012 on the same submission site.
