Transnational call for proposals on Animal Health and Welfare through the ERA-NET ANIHWA

The ANR is associated to the ERA-NET ANIHWA to launch a third transnational call for funding research on animal health and welfare of farm animals, including fish and bees. This programme is a continuation of ERA-NET EMIDA.

Sixteen countries are participating in this call for proposals: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom.

Research Consortia are invited to submit pre-proposals related to the three following topics:

  1. Disease control and surveillance: active surveillance, disease modelling, vector-borne diseases, vaccination and the role of wild-life reservoirs
  2. Production diseases: infection dynamics on-farm, antimicrobial and anti-parasitic treatment
  3. Animal Welfare: databases and automatic recording systems, research on dairy cattle, pigs, broilers, laying hens and fish

Included animals of all three topics are cattle, pigs, poultry, sheep, goats, horses, fish, bees and minor species like rabbits.

Please note that not all participating countries fund all topics – please refer to the call text for more detail. France will fund all four topics with no priorities.

Each project proposal (pre- and full proposal) must involve a minimum of three and a maximum of eight partners from at least three and a maximum of eight different participating countries. Consortium members from non-participating countries are welcome, but with own secured resources. Proposals tendered with support (financial or in kind) from industry, or other non-ANIHWA funding bodies are encouraged.

Funding will be awarded for a maximum of three years. The ANR will fund only the French partners in the selected projects.
