Selected – 2013

ERA-Net BiodivERsA 2

This call for proposals is open to scientific teams from 10 European countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Latvia, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, and Turkey) for a total budget of more than €7 M. The French National Research Agency (ANR) has reserved a budget of €1.5 M for this call for proposals and the French National Agency for Water and Aquatic Environments (ONEMA) €500 k.

The European partners in the BiodivERsA network have joined efforts to organise and fund a pan-European call for research projects on invasive species and biological invasions. The call will address the following themes:

  • T1: Demonstrating and characterising the impacts of biological invaders
  • T2: Understanding mechanisms of biological invasions and levers for mitigating and/or reversing the impacts of biological invaders
  • T3: Evaluating the interactions between biological invasions and other global environmental changes
  • T4: Biological invasions and public perceptions
  • T5: Biological invasions and adaptation

The main scientific themes are further detailed in the complete announcement of opportunity.

French scientific teams will be invited to form transnational research consortia with teams from minimum 2 other different countries (from the countries participating in the call:  Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Estonia, France, Germany, Latvia, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, and Turkey). The research proposals will be evaluated across criteria of scientific excellence and policy relevance. It is also expected that the European scope of the projects will provide added-value to the research carried out.
