Appel à Projets Transnational pour la recherche sur la "Neuroinflammation" dans le cadre de l'ERA-NET NEURON II

The ANR joins the ERA-Net NEURON II to launch a seventh call for research proposals to fund research on neuroinflammation.

Nineteen agencies in eighteen countries from the European Research Area and abroad are joining this call: Austria, Belgium, Canada (and Québec), France, Germany, Iceland*, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom.

*Pending final decision

Research proposals should cover at least one of the following areas:

  • a) Fundamental research on the role of neuroinflammation on the pathogenesis and/or etiology of neural diseases. This may include the development of innovative or shared resources and technologies.
  • b) Research to develop new strategies for diagnosis, therapy, and rehabilitation procedures for diseases in which neuroinflammation constitutes a relevant process of the pathology.

One of the aims of this ERA-NET NEURON call is to provide support to young researchers, and to facilitate their integration as independent PIs into the consortia, an experience that would be a valuable step forward in their research careers.

Clinical studies are eligible up to the point of proof of concept.

Each submitted proposal must involve a minimum of three and a maximum of five research groups from at least three different countries participating in this call (see list above). Funding will be awarded for a maximum of three years. The ANR will fund only the French partners in the selected projects.

SUBMISSION:

The submission and evaluation process will be managed by the JTC 2014 NEURON II Joint Call Secretariat (JCS).

There will be a two-stage submission procedure:

  • Joint pre-proposals (in English) must be uploaded to the submission website. Submission (electronic submission only) must be completed before March 10th, 2014 at 13:59 CET. Only the pre-proposals that will be selected by the international Scientific Evaluation Committee will be invited to submit a full proposal.

  • Joint full proposals (in English) will only be accepted from applicants who are invited by the JCS. Full-applications should be submitted electronically on the same submission website. The deadline for submission of full-applications (electronic submission only) is: June 24th 2014 at 13:59 CET.

Additional information can be found on the NEURON II website.

Whilst applications will be submitted jointly by research groups from several countries, individual groups will be funded by the individual funding organisation of their country/region that is participating in the NEURON JTC 2014. Applicants are therefore subject to eligibility criteria of individual funding organisations. If selected for funding, each French partner involved in a given project will have to sign a grant agreement with the ANR. French applicants are therefore subject to the ANR eligibility criteria and the funding of French applicants will be regulated according to the ANR rules. Please read carefully the "Appendix for French participants" (see above).
