Résumé

The Labex LANEF is continuously working towards synergy between its 6 founding laboratories and collaborations inside UGA Idex or with R&D/healthcare laboratories through all its tools operating since 2012. Originally based on 9 thematic alliances, LANEF evolved and is now structured in only 5 scientific and societal challenges: electrical energy, sensors for life science and healthcare, nanophysics and quantum engineering, new frontiers in cryogenics, quantum materials. The COPIL accompanied the project construction to reinforce synergy dynamics. Regular weekly seminars and one-day thematic workshops help creating a spirit of collaboration in the five challenges of the labex. From their previous success, a third Equipment Call has been organized and 5 additional Equipments have been funded. In 2021, we have also organized a Call of Chaire of Excellence and 4 very high level projects have been funded. Through our PhD Call in 2021, 9 new PhD students have been recruited following the criteria of synergy or collaboration of the LANEF achieving a total of 62 PhD students. One LANEF impact is a good structuring effect on the collaborations between our 6 labs, and an enhanced potential for applications. Thus, the LANEF is actively accompanying a structuration of the quantum community in Grenoble through i) a thematic program “Quantum” of the UGA Graduate School, ii) a new submitted MSCA COFUND “Quantum in Grenoble” expanded to quantum materials, enabling technology and interdisciplinarity after the successful GreQuE and its 18 EU PhD grants, and now iii) the creation of the “fédération” QuantAlps. The publications acknowledging LANEF reaches 42 in 2021. We notice an impact on the exploitation of results with the private sector, including 5 created startups acknowledging the labex. Our international networking, initially developed towards Lausanne (EPFL) and Tsukuba (AIST, NIMS, University) has been expanded towards Karlsruhe, Singapore and now Barcelona.
