Le Large Hadron Collider (LHC) au CERN explore les frontières de notre connaissance de la physique des particules. Les «jets« émanent des quarks et gluons de haute énergie produit lors des collisions sont un outil majeur pour étudier les interactions fondamentales. Le projet OptimalJets vise à développer la connaissance de la sous-structure des jets, une approche de plus en plus importante pour de nombreux aspect de la physique du LHC.

La qualité de l’air que nous respirons est une préoccupation centrale de la population, surtout en zones urbaines et périurbaines où les risques sanitaires de la pollution atmosphériques sont extrêmement alarmants. Néanmoins, l’exposition individuelle réelle à cette pollution est encore mal connue. L'idée est d'exploiter les capteurs émergents afin d'observer l'exposition individuelle, en mettant en place une infrastructure de collecte et d'analyse permettant d'évaluer ses risques.
