Partnership between ANR and the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT)

Jacqueline Lecourtier, Director General of the French National Research Agency and João Sentieiro, President of the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, signed on Monday, 23rd May 2011 in Paris a Memorandum of Understanding aiming at strengthening the French-Portuguese cooperation in the field of scientific research, as well as the launch of joint projects led by researchers from both countries. Priority research areas for 2011-2012 are: Biology, Health, Ecosystems and Environment.

According to the 3-year Memorandum of Understanding, projects will be submitted at a national level. However, they will be selected based on a consensus of both organisations.

The FCT will finance the Portuguese teams, and the ANR will finance the French researchers.
