Launch of a Europe-Americas partnership in social sciences and humanities
T-AP gathers key research funders in the Americas and Europe from 10 countries: Brazil, Canada, Mexico and the USA in America; Germany, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Portugal and the UK in Europe. It should extend to other countries in the future. Its activities are funded under the Seventh Framework Programme for research and technological development of the European Commission.
The partners will strive to identify best practices and priorities for future collaboration to enhance the quality, quantity and visibility of future actions, including possible joint research agendas. Moreover, they will work together to achieve convergence in terms of research policy, programme design and research funding practices.
This new Europe-Americas partnership should stimulate international collaboration and remove obstacles to the transatlantic cooperation in humanities and social sciences, a field of vital importance to address the major societal and global challenges.
