ANR DESCARWIN project awarded at the 7th International Planning Competition (IPC 2011)

The DAEX plannerX developed in the DESCARWIN project (ANR 2009 Cosinus Programme) was awarded the first prize at the 7th International Planning Competition (IPC), sub-optimal deterministic time session. This international competition is organised every two years during the International Conference on Automated Planning and Scheduling (ICAPS).

DAEX, a concrete implementation of the Divide-and-Evolve paradigm, is a domain-independent suboptimal planner based on an evolutionary algorithm using a “divide and conquer” strategy. DAEX planner is developed in the ANR DESCARWIN project which includes Thales Research & Technology (Pierre Savéant and Johann Dréo), ONERA (Vincent Vidal) and INRIA Saclay (Marc Schoenauer) teams.
