Transnational call for proposals on cerebrovascular diseases through the ERA-Net NEURON

The ANR is associated to the ERA-Net NEURON to launch a fourth joint transnational call for funding of innovative research projects in neuroscience.

Eleven countries are participating to this call for proposals: Austria, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Luxembourg, Poland, Romania, and Spain.

The aim of the call is to enable multi-national, collaborative research projects that will address important questions relating to cerebrovascular diseases. Translational research proposals that combine basic and clinical approaches are encouraged.

Research proposals should cover at least one of the following areas:

a)      Fundamental research on the pathogenesis and aetiology of cerebrovascular diseases. This may include the development of innovative or shared resources and technologies. The relevance of the research to disease must be clearly indicated.

b)     Research to develop new strategies for (early) diagnosis, therapy, and rehabilitation procedures for cerebrovascular diseases.

The projects must show a clear added value in funding the collaboration over the individual projects.

Each consortium submitting a proposal must involve a minimum of three and a maximum of five research groups from at least three different countries of funding organisations participating in this call (see list above).

There will be a two-stage procedure for joint applications: pre-proposals must be submitted by 9th March 2011 and only selected pre-proposals will be invited to submit a full proposal.

Funding will be awarded for a maximum of three years. The ANR will fund only the French partners in the selected projects.
