The 2025 Call for Proposals ASTRID : Specific support for Defence Projects and Innovation : Maturation and valorisation

The French National Research Agency (ANR) will soon launch, in partnership with the Defense Innovation Agency (AID), a national competence service under the responsibility of the General Delegate for Armament (DGA), the 2025 edition of ASTRID Maturation call for proposal. This program, funded by the AID, is hosted by the ANR which ensures its operation.

The ASTRID Maturation program intends to support the valorization of scientific work carried out in other research support devices that have received financial support from the Ministry of the Armed Forces. The applications must concern both civilian and military domains.

The ASTRID Maturation program aims to :

• Anticipate technological demonstrations and pre-industrial work that can materialize a dual scientific innovation,
• Develop the attractiveness of results for the industrial world and investors.

This device, at the interface between upstream research and technological research is complementary to RAPID and upstream programs of the DGA (for defense applications) as well as other civil support devices.

Useful informations

• Grant capped at €800k per project
• The participation of at least one industrial partner and one public research organization is required per project
• Open to each project which received a funding from the French Ministry of Armed Forces and which ended at least three years before the call’s opening date

Intellectual property clauses (IP)

All the agreements of the projects selected in this call will include intellectual property clauses which essentially aim at submitting to prior authorization from the DGA a sale of intellectual property resulting from the work (or an exclusive concession license) in order to preserve the feasibility of these applications. More generally, the DGA wishes to promote the valorization of innovations and makes available to project leaders a network of technical experts with knowledge of the industrial environment.
