Preannouncement: AGROECOLOGY3, edition 2027: “Fostering plant and animal genetic diversity and empowering farmers to accelerate the agroecological transition”
This 3rd call focuses on two key pillars of the agroecological transition: the genetic and social dimension. The first topic addresses genetic diversity and variability in crops and livestock, with the aim of laying the foundations for increasing the availability of species, varieties, and breeds that will support the development of agroecological farming systems.
The second topic addresses the social challenges of the agroecological transition, with a particular focus on farmers' motivation, skills, and knowledge and the role of stakeholders in encouraging their engagement.
The partnership will fund R&I projects providing significant contributions to either one of the following two topics:
Topic 1: Enhancing the genetic diversity and variability of crops and livestock for the agroecological transition.
Topic 2: Strengthening farmers’ involvement and empowerment in the agroecology transition.
The participating countries are Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Hungary, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, and Türkiye. This preliminary list also includes some regional funders.
