Interdisciplinary approaches to the neuroscience of pain - ERANET NEURON JTC2025

This call for projects will primarily fund studies with the potential to improve our understanding of chronic pain in the context of its implications for brain health and disease, including associated co-morbidities, and also research proposals with the aim of enabling earlier and more accurate diagnoses and facilitating the development of innovative, safe, effective and accessible treatment strategies that take account of individual differences, thus paving the way for personalised pain management.
Research proposals should cover at least one of the following areas:
a) Fundamental research on neuroscientific aspects of the pathogenesis, aetiology, prevention, progression, and treatment of chronic pain. This may include the development of innovative or shared resources and technologies considered of relevance in the context of this call.
b) Clinical research to develop new strategies for prevention, diagnosis, patient stratification, therapy, and rehabilitation procedures for chronic pain syndromes.
The consortium must involve a minimum of 3 eligible partners working in 3 different countries participating in this call (see call text).
