Generic call for proposals 2016
ANR launches its generic call for proposals for the third consecutive year. The generic call is ANR's main call for proposals for the financial year 2016. It is open to all scientific disciplines and types of research, from basic research through to applied research carried out in partnership with private companies, including SMEs.
The scientific and thematic fields targeted by this call, the funding instruments available and the procedures for evaluating proposals are detailed in ANR's Work Programme 2016.
The selection procedure for this generic call for proposals will proceed in two stages:
The first stage is the online submission of a 5-page pre-proposal. This pre-proposal will be reviewed according to a method described in the Generic Call for proposals. Pre-proposal coordinators selected at the outcome of the first stage will be invited to submit a full proposal. This full proposal will be reviewed during the second stage of the evaluation process according to a method described in the Call text.
International collaboration:
To facilitate international collaboration, ANR has concluded bilateral agreements with counterpart agencies. Projects which are part of this framework (International collaborative research projects, PRCI) are included in the generic call for proposals but are submitted to a specific submission calendar. The provisional list of countries concerned by these agreements at the time of the call for proposals’ launch is as follows: Germany, Austria, Brazil (Pernambuco and Sao Paulo states), Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Japon, Luxemburg, Mexico, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan and Turkey. The definitive list of agreements established by ANR for the 2016 call will be published on the ANR website by 15 September 2015 at the latest. All corresponding annexes will be available before september 30th.
For all PRCI-type collaborations, candidates must refer to the annexes of the generic call, which details specific procedures and eligible themes on a country-by-country basis.
It is also possible to submit a project with one or several foreign teams from any country desired outside of these bilateral agreements. These countries are subject to the generic call for proposals process.
