Funding – 2012

Concepts, Systems and Tools for Global Security

The French National Research Agency (ANR) launches the 2012 edition of “Concepts, Systems and Tools for Global Security” in partnership with the General Delegation for Armament (DGA).

This call for proposals aims to encourage high level scientific and technological research, as well as furthering our knowledge of a domain that is, by nature, transverse and multidisciplinary. This call for proposals also requires a collaborative effort between the human and social sciences, amongst other elements.
Depending on global security perimeters, CSOSG 2012 has two
main objectives. The first objective is to allow orphan topics that have not been previously funded to be incorporated into quality projects meeting national priorities. The second objective is to lay the foundations of the Horizon 2020 Programme. Although this programme follows on from the 7th Framework Programme, several new themes are likely to emerge.
Finally, following the success of this exercise in 2010, a cross-sectional category is offered again this year, with the aim of promoting more long-term oriented projects, which could fall into the category of disruptive innovation.

The themes of this call for proposals are as follows:

  1. "Global Security" cross-sectional category
  2. Protecting citizens and infrastructure
  3. Improving the crisis management process
  4. The fight against cybercrime
