Call for European research projects for cross-disease analysis of pathways related to Neurodegenerative Diseases, in the context of JPND
The ANR joins the EU Joint Programme – Neurodegenerative Disease Research (JPND) to launch a Transnational Call aimed at supporting transnational collaborations in the field of neurodegenerative disease. Sixteen countries from the European Research Area and abroad are joining this call: Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, Turkey.
The objective of this call is to encourage the development network analyses in different neurodegenerative and other chronic diseases to elucidate the underlying mechanisms involved. The combined analysis of diseases across traditional clinical boundaries may lead to a re-definition of clinical phenotypes and new approaches in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.
The JPND diseases are:
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and other dementias, Parkinson’s disease (PD) and PD‐related disorders, Prion disease, Motor neurone diseases (MND), Huntington’s Disease (HD), Spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA), Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA)
The proposals should clearly demonstrate the added value of the transnational collaboration, and each proposal must involve a minimum of three and a maximum of six funded research groups from at least three different countries of the funding organisations participating in this call (see list above).
Funding will be awarded for a maximum of three years.
SUBMISSION
The submission and evaluation process will be managed by the JPND Joint Call Secretariat (JCS).
There will be a two-stage submission procedure:
- Joint pre-proposals (in English) must be uploaded to the submission website (https://www.ptit.de/ptoutline/application/JPND_CD). Submission (electronic submission only) must be completed before February 18th 2014.
- Joint full applications (in English) will only be accepted from applicants who are invited by the JCS. Full-applications should be submitted electronically on the same submission website. The deadline for submission of full-applications is: June 23rd 2014.
Whilst applications will be submitted jointly by research groups from several countries, individual groups will be funded by the individual funding organisation of their country/region. French applicants are therefore subject to the ANR eligibility criteria and the funding of French applicants will be regulated according to the ANR rules. Please read carefully the “Annexe pour les participants Français” (see below).
