Résumé

In January 2018, the Institut de la Vision (IDV), CIC 1423 were evaluated by the HCERES committee. The HCERES committee has written in its global assessment of the IDV that it “can justifiably be considered as the foremost vision research centre in the world” and its Assessment of scientific outputs, appeal and reputation of our Institute: “The committee considers the research output to be outstanding. The Institut de la Vision is a world-leading vision research Institute populated by team leaders all of whom are internationally recognized in their field of study.”

The 29thNovember 2018, the scientific day of the LABEX was organized in the Sorbonne Université (SU) campus. This event was organized to give an opportunity to all young scientists (PhD Students and Post-Doc fellows) of the LABEX to present their work to all the consortium.

As a part of the agenda of the 160th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between France and Japan, a seminar on "Regenerative medicine for vision restoration" was organized on May 2018 in Kobe (Japan). It brought together Japanese and French research institutions RIKEN, IDV and I-Stem to share pioneering and revolutionary experience in translational development of emerging therapeutic strategies and assistive technologies for retinal degenerative diseases.

In 2018, the project FOReSIGHT, coordinated by the Fondation Voir et Entendre and involving SU, INSERM and CHNO as founding members, was labellized IHU. It aims at meeting current and future challenges of ophthalmology and vision neuroscience, integrating existing basic and clinical research expertise, and attracting new international translational teams. The IHU program will transform two connected structures, CHNO and IDV, into a unified novel type of care hub, with a patient-centered strategy considering the socio-economic dimension, to accelerate the transfer of preclinical and technological progress to practice.
