Patterning Lithium Niobate solvothermal Growth – PatterLiNG
Despite the strong interest for lithium niobate (LiNbO3) due to its non-linear and electro-optical properties, making it a central piece for advanced tunable optics, processing and integration limit greatly its industrial usage. The PatterLiNG project proposes an original approach to mask and grow crystalline LiNbO3 patterns (solvothermal) from metallic Nb foil. The expected crystal orientation inherent from a growth from a substrate would give strong advantages compared to randomized polycrystalline nanopowders in terms of optical response, while benefitting from low-cost up scalable chemical processes. The coordinator and team have a strong multi-disciplinary expertise to tackle the challenges inherent to this novel process.
