Mediation and training in scientific mediation – MeFo 4

Submission summary

Title: Mediation and training in scientific mediation
This project follows on from the winning projects of the 2018-2019, 2020 and 2021 AAP (MéFo 1, 2 and 3), as the University of Tours has chosen to pursue its strategy of regional structuring and strengthening of CSTI through the production of mediation capsules and the enhancement of a scientific mediation training offer open to regional EPST, based in particular on these supports.
Three projects are eligible for this call. Mediation activities are planned in the various projects (communication on social networks, communications in the media and events for the general public), as well as a video capsule reporting on the results of the projects (WP1). It will be designed along the same lines as the previous projects (MéFo 1, 2 and 3), in partnership with the regional Centre de Culture Scientifique, Technique et Industrielle ("Centre-Sciences"). The objectives of this project are to raise awareness of the benefits of mediation and its implementation, and to formalize the results of the research.
The second part of the project (WP2) involves training sessions for university staff in scientific mediation. These training sessions will be part of the Université de Tours annual training plan, and will be open to staff from the Université d'Orléans and INSA CVL. In order to understand the motivations of project leaders in terms of the choice of mediation format, the target audience, the form of promotion, any difficulties encountered and the reflections arising from this experience, feedback will be organized in two forms: the sharing of video vignettes of testimonials looking back on the making of the mediation action, and time for exchanges on the conduct of SAPS projects based on the video vignettes produced (enriching the MéFo 1 + 2 + 3 catalog).
This feedback will also be used to consolidate networking initiatives: 1. between mediation players within the Université de Tours; 2. with regional players in the sector (Centre Sciences); 3. with EPST, the Université d’Orléans, INSA VdL and research organizations (INRAE, CNRS, INSERM) to whom the training courses will be open, and within the framework of COS ESRI and its SAPS working group led by DRARI.
The steering structure already in place for the MéFo 1, 2 and 3 projects will be maintained. It is made up of the SAPS project manager, of the Vice-President of the Research division, of the Vice-President in charge of SAPS and a representative of Centre Sciences.
