Scientific interactions in the territory – RESCITER 2

Submission summary

The University of Lorraine, CNRS and their partners are supporting and consolidating a common strategy to support science with and for society in the Lorraine region, in application of the policy implemented by our institutions. It helps consolidate the approach taken to strengthen the links between partners and the diversity of actions throughout the region. Several objectives have been
identified:
- Support the change in the position of scientists, increase the quantity but above all the quality of their interactions with the public;
- Make science and the scientific approach known and understood by a wide variety of audiences; arouse curiosity, develop critical thinking and encourage individuals to question themselves in order to arm them against disinformation;
- Share the most recent scientific knowledge with citizens, create a common scientific culture in our region and encourage exchanges with those who are furthest from it. Get closer to strategic territorial relays, in order to bring science in decision-making processes;
- Develop citizens' awareness of research as well as the diversity of professions in its ecosystem;
- Stimulate and support the involvement of non-scientists, including school audiences, in research projects through the development of citizen science and research. Encourage the involvement of researchers in citizen science by training them.
