Actions in Alsace to Communicate, Transmit and Unify around Science - III – AActus-III
The National Research Agency (ANR), through the call for projects "Science with and for Society - Scientific, technical and industrial culture - AAPG2022 | SAPS-CSTI-Générique22", offers the opportunity to implement mediation, communication or scientific promotion actions for a panel of ANR JCJC and PRC research projects funded by the ANR in 2021.
By responding to this call with the AActus-III project [Des Actions en Alsace pour Communiquer, Transmettre et Unir autour de la Science-III], the Alsace regional delegation of CNRS seeks to seize this opportunity to participate in strengthening interactions between science, research and society on its territories and for the benefit of all. The AActus-III project aims to create events fostering exchanges between researchers and a wide audience, to showcase ongoing research. Beyond the research topic itself, this will be an opportunity to discuss issues, collaborations, professions and the scientific approach.
The Alsace CNRS delegation is ideally positioned, due to several factors: multidisciplinary coverage, a network of academic partners, established connections with those involved in scientific, technical and industrial culture in the region, and the relations maintained with local authorities and the socio-educational world. The delegation also benefits, at the national level, from the expertise and support of the CNRS Communications Department, as well as from the network of communicators in the institutes and other regional delegations. This is an undeniable strength in promoting the Alsace project.
The AActus-III project will be implemented by a SAPS project manager, dedicated to the project, with expertise in mediation, reporting to the Alsace delegation's communications department.
AActus-III will build on the momentum and experience of the ongoing AActus [ANR-21-SS19-0029] et AActus II project.
AActus-II has three focuses:
_ the production of mediation tools with and for project leaders;
_ the implementation of mediation actions;
_ the construction of a network with the project leaders and their teams. Research is, first and foremost, a team effort, nurtured by a variety of collaborations. The challenge is to create a community around the project leaders participating in AActus, AActus-II and AActus-III, but also with the other scientists involved in ANR projects on the Alsace site.
To promote AActus-II and the ANR projects, the objective is to create synergy between the scientific community, mediation professionals (in particular our partners at the CCSTI spread accross Alsace, the “Nef des sciences” in Mulhouse, Le Jardin des sciences and Le Vaisseau in Strasbourg), associations, the world of culture and education and the civil society.
Aware that fundamental research involves advanced and sometimes abstract concepts for the general public, and that research results need to be placed in a “narrative” of recontextualization for greater accessibility, the Alsace regional delegation of the CNRS will ensure, at each step of the AActus-III project action program, that citizens have all the necessary knowledge to decipher the world of Science in which we live.
