ContRibute tO the Science Society dialogue part 4 – CROSS 4

Submission summary

The CROSS 4 project is an initiative aimed at extending the actions taken in previous seasons by producing new high-quality scientific mediation content with elevated narrative and aesthetic value. With the selection of 17 research projects, CROSS 4 adopts a social media-centered approach, responding to the new habits of consuming scientific content. The goal is to make science closer and more engaging for the general public, especially young people, through platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

This project will focus on visual and interactive formats, through videos and illustrations, to capture the attention of a wide audience. We will continue collaborating with the illustrator Alice Varoquaux to create original and impactful visuals to accompany the content shared. These visuals, combined with well-constructed scientific narratives, will offer a new way to understand complex topics in a fun and immersive manner.

CROSS 4 thus aims to be a modern response to the challenges of scientific mediation, using digital tools to bring research closer to the general public and create an interactive dialogue between researchers and citizens. The project seeks to energize online scientific culture while maintaining a high level of scientific rigor, in line with the requirements of the SAPS-CSTI call for projects. Through this approach, CROSS 4 will provide broader access to knowledge and stimulate the curiosity of younger generations about science.
