Sustainable Polymers for Advanced Materials in Aerospace and Transport – SPACE-MAT
The University of Bordeaux (UBx) on behalf of the Laboratory of Organic Polymer Chemistry’s Institutions, i.e. the CNRS and National Polytechnic Institute of Bordeaux (Bordeaux INP), together with two industrial partners - ArianeGroup and GTT - are joining forces to propose an industrial chair in the field of sustainable and high performance materials which includes foams for cryogenic insulation and biobased resins for composites towards Aerospace and Maritime Transport applications. The SPACE-MAT (Sustainable Polymers for Advanced Materials in Aerospace and Transport) project will rely on a solid scientific expertise acquired in the field of functional and bio-based polymers and will aim at answering critical needs in cryogenic insulation and high performance composites while providing solutions to Human and environmental concerns. Accordingly, the SPACE-MAT program will focus on the development of innovative technologies that will be implemented for strategic and high performance applications while conducting fundamental studies for the optimization of the materials performance. Adding value through considering the use of safe and bio-based precursors is critically answering the needs of the industrial partners, which aspire to develop innovative materials in response to health and environmental needs.
