Inclusive action research to increase the social ties of attachment of young disabilities entrusted to child protection – RAIJHASE
RAIJHASE is a research-action which involves three social and scientific enterprises, two public laboratories and a Departmental Council. Based on the observation that children with disabilities placed in Childhood Social Assistance (ASE) are the most affected by isolation, it aims to document and develop their social bonds of attachment. Through a participatory and inclusive methodology, this project aims to involve young people and children concerned, at all stages of the research, with a view to a better application of the declarations of children's rights and the rights of people. disabilities from Unesco.
Our main hypothesis is as follows: by ensuring that each child and young person with a disability in the care of child protection has multiple people “to count on” and “for whom they count” (Paugam, 2023) during throughout the duration of the placement, he will have easier access to the social capital necessary for his autonomy and his integration during and at the end of his placement.
RAIJHASE is based on work already carried out on child protection, disability and social attachment, in particular carried out by the members of the consortium (Accessibility Chair at Cnam, Alliss Platform, Leppi, Cnaemo). This work has identified a number of needs that the project aims to meet. First of all, to facilitate the emergence of innovative actions carried out by professionals and places of placement to improve the future social capital of the children they accompany on a daily basis. To do this, use the inclusive action-research method to develop, with the professionals, the children and young people concerned, the tools and resources to promote learning about socialization in social ties and the possibility of responding to opportunities (friendly, citizens, professionals, etc.). Since certain educational themes are invisible to leaders and professionals, they will gain legitimization through the inclusion of young people in the design and implementation of support levers. And among these issues, it is a question of working on the place and specific support of potential or diagnosed disabilities. This will enrich the analysis of the hypothesis considering that isolation and disability are intrinsically linked.
By acting on attachment ties, we act on the future social capital of young people leaving child welfare, in order to fight against the risk of isolation. Among the expected results, we can particularly emphasize the strengthening of the place of children and young people (10 to 21 years old) with disabilities entrusted to the ASE, in the design and implementation of action sheets and the support provided to professionals who make it possible to support this public.
