Morphodynamics of heterogeneous fluid turbulence – DeltaPhi
Flows of heterogeneous fluid (non-miscible fluids separated by an interface) are encountered in several natural and industrial situations. Most of available theoretical descriptions of such flows generally focus on the dispersed regime, i.e. when one phase is much more abundant than the other. When the two-phases are found in similar proportions (the dense regime), the shapes and dynamics of fluid structures are much more complex thereby making actual descriptions inoperative. Phase change is an additional complexity which is rarely considered in theories. The DeltaPhi project aims at exploiting an analytical framework developed by the coordinator which allows the morphodynamic of heterogeneous fluids turbulence in presence or not of phase change to be characterized.
