Interactive and Intelligent physical assets control system for the Risks Management of hazardous industrial facilities – I2RM
The objective of the I2RM project is to guarantee a high level of risks management in the operating conditions of an industrial facility by means of anticipation, prevention, avoidance and warning of any critical situation that could affect goods and people, which could appear by any abnormal positioning, handling and storage conditions of physical assets, as well as their interactions with other assets, other resources and human operators. For this project, we will design communicating equipment, tools and methods in a cooperative Cyber Physical System (CPS) infrastructure allowing real-time risks management of an industrial warehouse.
The project aims at defining a methodology and tools derived from automatic control and discrete event systems to estimate and monitor the states of physical assets, autonomous entities and operators involved in potentially hazardous and critical activities for storage, handling and processing operations within industrial facilities. Any critical and relevant physical asset and autonomous entity will be continuously monitored according to their its specifications and critical characteristics, in order to control that an asset is:
• at the right place/spot in the industrial facility,
• stored/working under acceptable in the right acceptable ambient conditions related to its characteristics,
• in place for a limited and monitored time duration,
• in the neighborhood of compliant/compatible other assets,
• interacting with the authorized operators,
• handled / transported by authorized apparatus,
• transported safely by automatic transportation resources in a cooperative way.
The project intends to develop a prototype system in a POF (Proof of Feasibility) approach at a TRL level 6, starting from open-source IoT devices provided by the industrial partner OKKO that will be enhanced to fulfil the project's objectives, and to validate the system solution first in a simulation platform and then in a realistic experimental benchmark provided by LAMIH. At last, practical implementations in an industrial use-case provided by the ROQUETTE company, which is associated in the project in “Hauts-de-France" region, are planned.
