VERification of IDentitY documents for authentiCation – VERIDYC

Submission summary

In the face of the changes in the information society, connecting people via digital authentication is becoming increasingly common. The identification system (via a code sent by SMS or email) remains the most widespread, although it is not very secure. New systems are being developed based on a correspondence between a user and his/her ID, via the camera on his/her smartphone for example. While face recognition and control of the person's presence are advanced research topics, ID verification remains a weak point in these systems. The VERIDYC project aims to provide solutions for detecting forgery and counterfeiting of digitised identity documents in context.
