Assessment of SARS-CoV-2 obstetric, fetal, and neonatal risk with study of placental and circulating extracellular vesicles in pregnant women serum exposed to SARS-CoV-2 during COVID-19 pandemic – COroFET
Information on SARS-CoV-2 infection risks in pregnant women and their offspring has so far been limited to small case series. Our objective is to explore from a large clinical-biological cohort, the obstetric, fetal and neonatal repercussions of SARS-CoV-2 and understand its pathophysiological mechanism. Our study will have four components; i) assessment of maternal-fetal transmission in women exposed to SARS-CoV-2, ii) assessment of obstetric, fetal, and neonatal SARS-CoV-2 risks, iii) study of women exposed to SARS-CoV-2 placenta with histological, immunohistochemical and transcriptomic comparison, and iv) study of placental extracellular vesicles composition in pregnant women serum according to their infection status. These 4 combined components will provide a better understanding of pathophysiological mechanisms of SARS-CoV-2 infection in pregnant women.
