Bisindolizine, a chiral common core for (confined) asymmetric catalysis – BOOSTs
The development of new ligands for enantioselective catalysis has continued to be an important endeavor, enabling the preparation of essential molecules as single enantiomers for a variety of applications. This research program clearly belongs to homogeneous catalysis and its goal is the development of a convenient and divergent strategy for the preparation of a series of highly modular and tunable new C2-symmetric chiral ligands. The second objective of our project will be dedicated to the evaluation of their catalytic properties as new chiral inducers in both typical and challenging reactions. From a societal point of view, the project intends to tackle the sustainability issues that our modern society needs to solve in the forthcoming years such as reduction of chemical wastes by developing new and efficient catalytic processes along with enantioselective synthesis of high-value chiral products.
