Smart Organic Electroactive Textiles for health monitoring – OrgTex

Submission summary

Today, novel and exciting wearable technologies are available in the market providing non-intrusive health monitoring capabilities in
fashionable way. Designing of functional devices that can assist physicians in monitoring the healing process of a patient will
facilitate medical surveys and help offer a more complete treatment. The OrgTex project will exploit the untapped potential of
organic electro-active materials in wearable biomedical monitoring systems. The project will combine wearable textile technology
and organic electronics to provide low cost and biocompatible solutions for interfacing smart electronic devices with the human body.
Developed technology will provide affordable medical-quality monitoring systems in order to evaluate human physiological functions
using cutaneous electrical recording and stimulation, and metabolic sensing.
