Peristaltic mechanical stimulation of colonic epithelium regeneration by ß-catenin dependent mechanotransductive stimulation of stem cells in vivo – InVivoMechaStemReg
ß-cat target oncogenes expression and ACF formation are mechanically induced in healthy tissues, in response to pathological permanent tumour growth mechanical pressure. To show this, our consortium developed a unique method of magnetization of the mesenchemial conjunctive tissue of mice colon with ultra-magnetic liposomes, that applies a static magnetic force mimicking colonic tumour pressure during weeks to months in vivo.
Here we propose to test that endogenous peristaltic colonic mechanical strains act as physiologic mechanotransductive cues required for the homeostatic maintenance of crypt structures.
