Electronic and Acoustic Hybrid Wind Instrument – INVENTHEA
The project INVENTHEA aims to provide an independent, non-invasive and reversible accessory for reed musical instrument. With the philosophy than the piano Yamaha " Silent ", the idea is to make silent the instrument when it is necessary and secondly extend its capabilities by capturing gestures sound synthesis generation. The scientific challenge is to develop a device capable of determining the open / closed state of the holes without instrumenting the keys independently. Other objective is also the integration of a mouthpiece measuring the airflow parameters produces by the musician and the synthesis algorithms at very low computational costs. To make affordable device, the third component of the project focuses on software integration of the realistic sound synthesis so that, it is compliant with mobile platform such as tablets and smartphones in terms of computational costs.
