Hydrodynamique dans les simulations de suspensions colloïdales – HYSISCO

Submission summary

This project is submitted by the Laboratory of Ceramic Processes and of Surface Treatments of the French National Research Council (UMR CNRS 6638). This laboratory involved in ceramic processes thus aims to reinforce its activity regarding the understanding of the relationship between the structuration of colloidal suspensions, the resulting adaptation of the rheology to a given shaping process and the final properties of the shaped and consolidated ceramic materials. In this objective, the simulation of the structuration of colloidal suspensions appears as a key step . More specifically, our HYSISCO project concerns the development of a "stochastic rotation dynamics" simulation method that must be adapted to the specific case of concentrated ceramic suspensions subjected to hydrodynamics forces. This real challenge will be addressed through an international collaboration with Finnish colleagues specialized in the building of such types of simulations.
