Stratégie de l'Anion Chiral en Catalyse Asymétrique Organométallique – SACCAOR
In this proposal, two groups from a single partner (Institut Parisien de Chimie Moléculaire) at the University Pierre and Marie Curie-Paris 6 are joined together with strong complementary expertise. The proposed work lies in the field of asymmetric organometallic catalysis, from coordination chemisty to the applications in fine organic synthesis. Our approach consists in the development of new catalytic systems combining a cationic organometallic complex and a chiral counter-anion. We also plan the synthesis of new chiral ligands exhibiting centered-chirality (bis-sulfoxides ligands), or planar chirality based on new organometallic architectures built from Cp* linkers. Two important metal-catalyzed synthetic processes will be under scrutinity, namely the [2+2+2] cycloaddition and the recently developed electrophilic metal-catalyzed cycloisomerization of polyunsaturated systems. In addition, we envision theoretical computations for supporting these studies. This work will certainly generate important findings in coordination chemistry as well as applied homogeneous catalysis. We have all the required competences to conduct this project properly and successfully. Support from the ANR is crucial for us to start this project in a particularly competitive context.
