ACTIONS, GROUPES ET ALGÈBRES D'OPÉRATEURS – AGORA
The goal of our project is to bring together French (or even European) mathematicians working in areas related to von Neumann algebras, measurable group theory, topology and dynamics in order to enhance fructify by cross-pollinisation further progress in these subjects which have known dramatic development in the last ten years. We possess in France a important individual expertise that we now have to assemble in order to get the critical size. We target progresses in open problems of various kinds, like : the relation between cost and the first L2 Betti number, isomorphism of free group factors, super-rigidity in group measure space factors.
