Phosphasalen oxidized complexes – PsalenOx
How may the presence of phosphorus in the backbone of the ligand influence the nature of oxidized complexes ? Phosphasalens can be viewed as phosphorous analogues of salens featuring two phenoxides and two iminophoshoranes which are highly electron-donating. A precise description of the electronic structure of the oxidized complexes is targeted, as well as the stabilization of oxo complexes, which are relatively rare in salen chemistry (except the chromium case).
Assimilation and integration of Geodetic observations Into subduction earthquake Rupture modeling. – AGIR
The 2011 Mw9.0 Tohoku earthquake (Japan) shocked the worldwide seismologist community by demonstrating that we could not anticipate exceptionally large earthquakes properly. Today’s failure is mostly due to the rare occurrence of such events. However, the increasing number of interseismic observations opens new perspectives. The strategy we develop here aims to take advantage of interseismic geodetic measurements, which can be used to infer the mechanical loading process of the plate interface.
DisEntangling Quasi-geostrophic motions and INternal waves in high resolution satellite observations of the Ocean – EQUINOX
Upcoming wide-swath altimetric missions (CNES/NASA SWOT, launch date 2021) is an exceptional opportunity for the observation of the ocean. The project adresses a challenge that appeared with this novel instrument and related to the superimposition of oceanic slow (week or longer) and fast (day or faster) variabilities. This project aims at developing methods in order to distinguish slow and fast motions and map their geographical distributions.

History and Memory of a Lost World After the Catastrophe<br /><br />This project aims to rediscover a collection that is not accessible to researchers or to a wider audience – because it is composed of works in Yiddish –, even though these contain documents of exceptional interest (first Holocaust testimonies, history of Polish Jewry) and that the collection as a whole is traversed by a series of pertinent and ongoing questions regarding the writing of history and the preservation of memory.

Joint call for proposal "Chlordécone II : societies and multi exposure"
Chlordecone is an organochlorine insecticide used worldwide since the 1960s. Due to its high toxicity, biomagnification and long-term persistence in the environment, it was banned in France in 1990, except in the French West Indies, where it was authorized for soil application to control banana weevils until 1993. Over more than two decades of use, this pesticide has heavily contaminated ecosystems, with deleterious consequences for the environment and health.
Exhibition - Filming the War: the Soviets and the Holocaust
The political role played by cinema during the Second World War is an acknowledged fact. There is no shortage of research into the productions of Hollywood, Great Britain and France during that period, but our knowledge of Soviet cinema is less well documented. Funded by ANR since 2013, the CINESOV project has set itself the goal of exploring the Soviet cinematographic policy and its implications, both economic and social, in Russia at war (1939-1949). An exhibition entitled "Filming the War – The Soviets and the Holocaust, 1941-1946", currently showing at the Shoah Memorial in Paris until 27th September 2015, fits into this perspective.
Science with and for society: the selected projects of ANR’s first SAPS call for proposals, “Scientific mediation and communication”
Strengthening the interactions between science, research and society is a key priority requiring a better understanding of the practices used and the development of innovative tools and mechanisms. This is why, as part of a multi-year SAPS (science with and for society) programme dedicated to promoting scientific, technical and industrial culture (CSTI), the French National Research Agency (ANR) launched an initial Research-Action call for proposals at the end of July 2021 on the theme “Scientific mediation and communication”.
