Alcohol-related neurodevelopmental disorders: imaging and modelling markers from the brain anatomy – ANDIMBA
ANDIMBA aims to identify, characterise and combine for diagnostic and prognostic purposes neuroanatomical MRI markers of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), which are still lacking in the clinical setting. Its approach is to combine clinical expertise in FASD giving access to a large set of radio-clinical data and expertise in computer-assisted neuroimaging providing innovative tools to study the brain with developmental growth anomaly.
Covid-19 Flash call: the French National Research Agency (ANR) funds 86 projects totalling €14.5 million and opens a new call for Research-Action projects
As part of the Covid-19 Flash call, which aims to mobilise scientific communities in response to the evolving epidemic, the French National Research Agency (ANR) has completed the review process and awarded immediate funding to 86 research projects covering a wide range of issues related to the crisis. The budget for the call has increased substantially, to €14.5 million, thanks to emergency funding pledged by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI) and financial partners. In light of the evolving situation, ANR has opened a new call for Research-Action projects on Covid-19 to address urgent needs.
The Impact of Past Pandemics on Human Evolution: An Archaeogenomic Study of Victims of the Black Death – MORTUI
The Black Death was one of the most devastating pandemics in European history, resulting in the death of 30–60% of its total population from 1347 to 1352. Several factors have been proposed to explain such a catastrophic mortality, including microbial virulence factors or vector expansion but, to date, archaeological evidence supports none of these scenarios.

Dynamic assembly of aromatic oligoamide foldamers for stabilizing protein-protein interactions – FOLDynamic
Combining the self-assembly properties of aromatic oligoamide foldamers into double helices in water with their protein surface recognition properties via their proteinogenic side chains to ultimately stabilize heteromeric protein dimers.

Covid-19 Flash Call: first immediate funding for the launch of 44 urgent projects
Following the launch of the Covid-19 Flash call, which aims to mobilise scientific communities to address the spread of the epidemic, ANR has introduced an accelerated, streamlined version of its procedures. This has made it possible today to announce the first funding for the launch of 44 projects whose objectives are urgent in view of the current situation.
COmoros & maYotte: vOlcanism, TEctonics and Seismicity – COYOTES
To understand the unprecedented telluric event of the Mayotte seismo-volcanic crisis, it appears essential to reach a critical level of knowledge on the evolution of the seismic, volcanic and geodetic deformation, but also on the geodynamic context, including the kinematics and the characterization of the lithospheric and crustal structures, including both short and long-term and regional and local scales. The results would allow to assess better the volcanic and seismic hazards of the area.
Geothermal resources of crustal-scale fault zones: exploring new systems for competitive geothermal power production – GERESFAULT
Crustal fault zones (CFZ) correspond to permeability anomalies of crustal rocks. Instead of looking for temperature anomalies and artificially enhance the rock permeability, this project is focused on anomalously high permeability zones, where deep hot fluids naturally rise up to the subsurface. With a multidisciplinary approach on the Pontgibaud CFZ (Massif Central), the understanding of this hydrothermal system will be applied to european CFZ.
