Assimilation and integration of Geodetic observations Into subduction earthquake Rupture modeling. – AGIR
The 2011 Mw9.0 Tohoku earthquake (Japan) shocked the worldwide seismologist community by demonstrating that we could not anticipate exceptionally large earthquakes properly. Today’s failure is mostly due to the rare occurrence of such events. However, the increasing number of interseismic observations opens new perspectives. The strategy we develop here aims to take advantage of interseismic geodetic measurements, which can be used to infer the mechanical loading process of the plate interface.
Multiple-resonance irradiations in NMR for high-resolution structural characterization of fluorinated solids – IRMMAF
Structural determination of powders is still nowadays a major challenge, preventing the discovery of potentially interesting new materials. Because of its more local character, solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is nowadays considered as a key technique, in complement to diffraction, to address the specificity of fluorinated porous solids like zeolites or MOFs.
Redox modulation of luminescence : association of ruthenium organometallics and luminescent units – RuOxLux
The aim of the project is to develop novel fundamental issues for optical switching materials
Dynamics of an arc volcano with extruding lava domes, Merapi (Indonesia): from the magma reservoir to eruptive processes – DOMERAPI
On andesitic volcanoes, magma reaches the surface as domes that destabilize gravitationally or explosively to form pyroclastic flows that travel kilometers along the flanks of the volcano or form vertical explosive columns. These different eruptive styles generate drastically different human and environmental impact.
DOMERAPI proposes a multi-disciplinary approach that involves and integrates geological and geophysical methods in order to improve our understanding of these magmatic processes.
Plates with blind holes for harnessing of flexural waves – PLATON
The PLATON project aims at exploring fundamental as well as applied aspects of flexural wave interaction with periodic or random arrays of strongly coupled subwavelength resonators. Of particular interest is the possibility to investigate new wave phenomena by designing artificial meta-structures for elastic waves similar to the ones investigated in optics or electromagnetic waves, such as photonic crystals and metamaterials.
Towards a photo-herbicide: synthesis and studies of water-soluble fluorescent tagged porphyrins, from solution to plant cells – PorphyPlant
The aim of this project is to develop soft agronomic practices taking environmental context and efficient agriculture into account.
Thus we aim at using exogenous porphyrins as biodegradable herbicides.

Genetic dissection of sex chromosome meiotic drive in Drosophila simulans – SexChroDrive
Looking for genes that cause female-biased sex ratio and for antagonist genes that restore an equal sex ratio in natural populations of the species Drosophila simulans
Dynamic Reconstruction of Region Of Interest Tomography. Theory and Experiments. Reconstruction Dynamique de Région d'Intérêt en Tomographie. Théorie et Expérimentations. – DROITE
To reconstruct medical images from truncated radiographic projections of organs that are in motion during the data acquisition.
To develop solid theoretical bases for the development of robust and efficient algorithms.
To test and evaluate these methods in the context of interventional imaging, in orthopedics in the framework of pedicle screw insertion and in radiotherapy of lung tumours.
