Key figures and regional breakdown of projects funded by ANR between 2014 and 2020: publication of an interactive atlas

The atlas and the summaries for each region in mainland France and overseas are produced and presented every year in conjunction with the ANR Tour, a special opportunity for discussion with scientific communities and institutional managers. This information, viewable online and available for download (in PDF and Excel formats), is intended for scientific communities, research institutions, regional institutional players and anyone interested in this data.
The figures presented are obtained from ANR data. The source data can be accessed at data.gouv.fr. Additional data taken from the information supplied when projects are submitted has been added for presentation purposes. The methodology is explained in a dedicated document.

This atlas is part of the broader framework of impact analysis work carried out at ANR. The Agency is committed to analysing the evolution of research provision and measuring the impact of the funding it provides. ANR uses a range of approaches to achieve this, based for example on scientific peer review, surveys and interviews but also data analysis, bibliometrics, text mining, case studies and econometric studies. Impact assessment also depends on rigorous data collection. Access to reliable data, and its interoperability with other datasets made available in the context of open data, are important factors in the successful completion of impact assessments.
