Anthropomorphic Action Planning and Understanding – ENTRACTE
neurosciences, by proposing a new theory of embodied intelligence. The ENTRACTE project is a basic research action
Remote Energy supply and control of smArt Digital MIcroconveyors – READMI
READMI project is intended to be a contribution to the reasoned management of the space and energy consumed by the micro-conveyance function in a smart micro-factory. The principal interest of the project consist in the design of micro-conveyors based on arrays of digital micro-actuators which are controlled and supplied wirelessly by optics.
Synthetic translocation membranes from hierarchical assemblies of block copolymers – TRANSPOLYMEM
Dynamic polymeric materials represent a novel and rapidly evolving class of bio-inspired materials that holds huge potential for biological and non-biological applications. We propose the preparation of translocation membranes, which albeit simpler in structure behaves similarly to lipid bilayer membranes. In this proposal, the novelty comes from the dynamic formation and closure of pores across a polymer membrane, triggered by the contact between the membrane surface and a targeted object.
Driver - Automated Vehicle Cooperation – CoCoVeA
The development of automated driving, and more generally of advanced driver assistance systems interacting with the driver at the vehicle control level generates new problems of human-machine cooperation. Solving them requires to study, from the early design stage of the system, the ways the driver will interact with the system by addressing the problems of task sharing, authority, conflict management, level of automation and HMI.
CoCoVeA proposes and evaluates an architecture for that.

Photovoltaics Integration into Grid with distributed storage – PARADISE
PV integrated to distribution grids with high renewables integration
New (photo)initiated polymerization processes for thick, filled, reinforced materials and new coatings. – Deep CURE
The Deepcure project is devoted to photopolymerizable materials which represent the field of expertise of both LPIM and Mäder. The issues that limit todays the development of such materials represents the two major topics of research in Deepcure. This concerns thick and highly pigmented photopolymerizable materials as well as new photopolymerizable coatings with advanced functionalities.
Enhancing Adaptation and Resilience to Drought in Dry Tropical Social-Ecological Systems: The Guanacaste, Costa Rica Example – FuturAgua
Improving freshwater security requires advances in conceptual knowledge and analytical methods, new scientific insights, and improved understanding of human and institutional responses to uncertain information. These advances will provide the basis for (i) better understanding of resilience to drought in dynamic social-ecological systems, (ii) enhancing the value of uncertain information, and (iii) spurring resilient societal responses to drought, within multi-scale governance systems.
Intelligible Car for Hearing Impaired – AIDA
Intelligible Cars for Hearing-impaired people
KInetic models in Biology Or Related Domains – KIBORD
This project consists in gathering three teams of mathematicians specialized in PDEs and already collaborating with teams working in the sector of biology. We propose a detailed study of the modeling and the mathematical/numerical analysis of problems arising from different areas of this sector.
The common feature of those problems is the need to examine the qualitative properties of systems of PDEs which are distinct from any of the systems appearing in physics.
New standard to develop Advanced Transportation Information Services – NORM-ATIS
The project consists in collecting data from multiple sources, notably cellphone usage, vehicle-integrated sensors, public institutions and collaborative tools. The management and storing of this Big Data is a key part of the project, and allows its modelization and use in visualisation and analytical tools meant to be used by local institutions.
