Deciphering the molecular switch of seed desiccation tolerance to improve plant stress tolerance – DEswitch
Drought has challenged food security, urging the development of drought-tolerant crops. Crops do not withstand severe drought at the vegetative stage, but produce desiccation tolerance (DT) seeds. The ability to tolerate extreme dehydration is being switched on during seed maturation and off shortly after germination. While efforts have focused on the nature of the protective compounds conferring DT, mechanisms that regulate their accumulation during seed development are poorly understood.

Dilute quantum droplets of potassium – Droplets
Our project deals with the creation and the study of a new type of quantum liquid droplets in yet dilute ultracold atomic samples of Potassium 39. Their existence emerges because of quantum fluctuations in a mixture of two Bose-Einstein condensates for which the overall mean-field energy cancels because of attractive interspecies interaction. The system offers a unique opportunity to quantitatively study beyond-mean field effects dominating the dynamics of the system.

Predicting speaker's usages in oral French : quantitative, experimental and comparative approaches of syntactic alternation – PULCO
The project's ambition is to explain speakers' oral usages and some of the production mechanisms underlying them. To this end, we will develop predictive models of certain speakers' uses in order to gain an overall picture of the phenomena, and we will experimentally collect controlled oral productions to understand how certain factors intervene and interact in speech production.

The project has the ambition to fully characterize, from signal to cellular responses, a novel bacterial stress response mechanism in which two proteins, a metalloprotease and a transcriptional regulator, control expression of known and yet unknown genes, leading to either cell survival or apoptotic- like death.
