Environmental ePIdemiology of COVID-19 in French Guiana: combining eDNA and biogeography to forecast future epidemiological waves – EPI-COV
The speed of the spread of Covid-19 underscores the need to improve our understanding of the epidemiological dynamics of SARS-CoV-2 in the population. Wastewater analysis is a sentinel tool to assess the scale and evolution of the epidemic, but also to anticipate an influx of cases in hospitals or health centers. The project also aims to identify the diversity of variants circulating in Guyana.

Solar light-driven photocatalytic processes for methane chemical conversion – SOLARMETACHEM
Direct conversion of methane into fuels and platform molecules has been a “holy grail” in chemistry. Significant amounts of methane are nowadays burned out leading to the CO2 emission. Methane is a greenhouse gas with a global warming potential 50 times higher than carbon dioxide . Very few research works have addressed selective photochemical conversion of methane to higher hydrocarbons.
Novel materials as electrode and electrolyte components in fuel cell technology – C-MOF.cell
A main concern of the 21st century for society is the high global demand for energy. Therefore, it urges the development of new technologies for the sustainable production and storage of energy, improving their efficiency and environmental compatibility and decreasing their cost. This project aims to develop novel functional materials for polymer electrolyte fuel cells that are efficient, affordable and robust in a broader range of operating conditions than achieved with current materials.
Analyzing Large Scale Geometric Data Collections – AIGRETTE
In the research project associated with this chair, we propose to develop efficient algorithms and mathematical tools for analyzing large geometric data collections, including 3D shapes represented as triangle or quad meshes, volumetric data, point clouds possibly embedded in high-dimensions and graphs representing geometric (e.g. proximity) data.<br />Our project is motivated by the fact that large annotated collections of geometric models have recently become available, and that machine learning algorithms applied to such collections have shown promising initial results, both for data analysis and synthesis. We believe that these results can be significantly extended by building on recent advances in geometry processing, optimization and learning.
Shared-Control Algorithms for Human/Multi-Robot Cooperation – MULTISHARED
The goal of MULTISHARED is to significantly advance the state-of-the-art in multi-robot autonomy and human-multi-robot interaction for allowing a human operator to intuitively control the coordinated motion of multi-UAV group, with a strong emphasis on the division of roles between multi-robot autonomy and human intervention/guidance for providing high-level commands to the group while being most aware of the group status via VR and haptics technology.
