Pre-pandemic SARS-CoV-2 natural immunity in Africa and South-East Asia – PRECOV_
Almost two years after the emergence of COVID-19, significant regional differences in terms of morbidity persist, showing in particular lower incidence rates in some regions of Africa or Asia. Pronostic value of type I ANTi-Interferon antibodies in patients with COVID-19 acute respiratory failure: a multicenter observational study – ANTICOV
SARS-CoV-2 infection leads to a broad spectrum of symptoms with a large inter-individual variability. Impaired interferon (IFN) type I response seems to be involved in patients with severe SARS-CoV-2 infection. Auto-antibodies (auto-Abs) neutralizing type I IFN-a2 and IFN-? were found in 10% of severe COVID-19 cases . Dertermining whether auto-Abs neutralizing type I IFNs are associated with outcomes in critically ill patients with COVID-19 could lead to specific therapeutic interventions.
Attitudes towards vaccines and competence to consent to vaccination against COVID-19 in individuals with schizophrenia – SCHIZOVAC
Recent evidence suggests that individuals with schizophrenia are at high risk for severe COVID-19 and should be prioritized for vaccination. Several important barriers could negatively affect the uptake of a COVID-19 vaccine in this population, among them attitudes of individuals with schizophrenia towards vaccination and impaired decision-making capacities. However, competence to consent to vaccination and general attitudes towards vaccines remains unexplored in schizophrenia.
