Design and prototyping of an all-optical TeraHertz vision system using TeraHertz thermal converters
The main goal of this project is the development of a new prototype of THz camera. The idea is to increase the performance of such system in order to create a prototype devoted to industrail applications
From a scientific point of view two approaches are done. The first one consists in numerical modelisation the physical phenomena acting in such case. The, a first camera prototype will be done. This proptotype will be devoted to the development of a new THz tomographic bench.
The first results allow us to optimize the conception of the prototype and then to create the first THz camera as well as measurements and software tools.
Increasing the performance and validate the existing system. Perform first test directly to customer and finally created a start up.

The TeraNov project aimed to make the industralization, commerciallization of TeraHertz thermal converters in order to extend the commercial infrared thermal systems to TeraHertz or millimetric spectral domain. the technological patented development is issued from the straight Research and development skills of the technological optical and laser center ALPhANOV and the laboratory TREFLE. The combination of thermal system skills of the TREFLE with the optical expertise of ALPhANOV have enabled to design a new all-optical TeraHertz Camera well-adpated to market application due to his low cost and high technical specification.
The high potential application of this new THz camera is found in non destructive material and process inspection, civil and military application. These are large growing market potential than can be acces with technological add-value compared to existing methos as thermography or X-rays.
