ANR has teamed up with the ERA-NET Cofund SUSFOOD2 to launch a joint transnational call for proposals in order to fund innovative research projects in sustainable food production and consumption. The European Research Area Network (ERA-NET) Cofund Sustainable Food Production and Consumption – SUSFOOD2 – will fund research aimed at providing Europe’s citizens with sufficient, healthy and safe food, to safeguard natural resources. It aims at reducing fossil energy dependency and environmental impacts, whilst address societal concerns. SUSFOOD2 should hit upon several societal challenges and Horizon 2020 themes including environment, resource efficiency and Europe in a changing world.
An estimated total amount up to €14 million has been allocated by funding partners from Belgium (Flanders), Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, Turkey and United Kingdom for this call.
Funding will be awarded for three years maximum. Only transnational projects will be funded: each consortium must therefore include at least three teams from at least three different countries participating in the call. Each agency will fund the teams from its own country; therefore the candidates must ensure that they comply with their respective agencies’ rules of eligibility. ANR will therefore only be funding the French teams applying on Topic 2 Providing added value, increased resource efficiency and reduction of waste in sustainable food systems. Project submission and selection shall take place as an integrated peer evaluation process with the other countries.
The project must be submitted by the coordinating partner in electronic form on the website indicated above, before the deadline.
