The ANR is associated to the ERA-NET Infect-ERA to launch a first transnational call for funding research on human infectious diseases. This programme is a continuation of ERA-NET PathoGenoMics.
Eleven countries are participating to this call for proposals: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Sweden.
Through this call, Infect-ERA aims to fund transnational and translational research, bringing together basic, applied and technology-driven research approaches of a broad variety of research topics regarding human infectious diseases. The call will enable multinational, collaborative research projects that address a specific topic of human infectious disease research.
Transnational research proposals must address at least one of the following areas, which are equal in relevance for this call:
HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis are not in the scope of the call.
Each project proposal (pre- and full proposal) must involve a minimum of three (3) and a maximum of six (6) partners from at least three (3) participating countries. They should favourably include participants from academia and clinics and/or industry. Non-funded project partners can be part of the consortia if they secure their own funding and if their expertise is indispensable for reaching the objectives. However, the consortia should consist in a majority of partners from countries participating in this call and the maximum number of six participants may not be exceeded.
Funding will be awarded for a maximum of three years. The ANR will fund only the French partners in the selected projects.
This call will be managed by the Infect-ERA call office, which is based in Jülich, Germany.
Submissions of proposals will be in two steps. All proposals should be submitted online via the submission website before the respective deadlines (pre-proposals April 19th, 2013, 17:00 CEST; full proposals August 2nd, 2013, 17:00 CEST). Only invited pre-proposals will be accepted for full proposal submission.
Each French partner of the selected projects will sign a grant agreement with the ANR. Therefore, he/she will adhere to the methods stipulated in the "Regulations relative to the means of allocation of ANR funds", which may be consulted on the ANR website by clicking here.
